Ford FE Help

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 58fairlaneuk, Mar 27, 2007.

  1. Can anyone help me with Ford FE block questions?
My 58 Fairlane has a 332cu FE block with hydraulic lifters, I have the opportunity to buy a replacement rebuilt block that has no sump or inlet manifold and is a 330ci circa 1974.
    My questions are:
    1. Can I use my existing inlet manifold?
    2. Can I use my 332 sump?
    3. Will my engine mounts fit?
    4. Will the block have the same bolt pattern for my curiseOmatic box?
    5. Will I still be able to use my 332 flexiplate and torque converter?
    6. Anything else I may have missed.
The combined extensive knowledge of the HAMB help is gratefully received :).

Well if that is a 330MD truck engine, I think you'll be fine. Now the 330HD on the other hand has a larger crank snout than the MD or any car versions of the FE. It's 1 3/4" versus 1 3/8". That's about the only thing that'll stop you.
