Howdy everyone! Well I am looking at swappin engines in my 63 galaxie the question I have is I am looking at buying a 390 interceptor engine out of a 61 galaxie but does anyone know if there motor mounts are the same or different?? I would think they would be the same but I'm not sure I'm just trying to get some more input on it thanks!

Same mount holes in the FE blocks. There are different mounts on the earlier cars like my 61 which aren't a flat inch-thick block of rubber like the 63 uses but rather a taller narrower one. Use the mounts for the 352 or 390 63.

  5. I just put a 390 in my '62 Galaxie and tryed using the '63-'64 short style "406" mounts and they would not work, had to use the '61-'62 tall mounts, same for the 292,352,390, fit like a glove.

Rockauto usually have great prices. Got mine there for my 63 1/2 Mercury 390
