Are the rocker shafts on an FE hollow or solid? Do the FE's oil the rockers through the shafts or the pushrods? Sorry, that was 2 questions...
Thx.... working on a custom Olds setup, they are the same way... just needed to know that info so I don't ask the wrong question of the FE guys, thanks.
i'm almost done with my custom adjustable rocker set-up.i'm using studebaker rocker arms with cadillac rocker shafts in olds rocker pedestals.
FTF is a Fe guy also. He doesn't post much but you can find him in the user list and email him questions. When you get into that rocker set up, you will notice there is one of the rail supports on each side that is different. The bolt that runs through that support is different than the others also. There, that is all I know about them. Well, also, if you deck the block and or heads, and then run stock length pushrods, it makes funny noises. That all stops in just a few minutes though. Tell him RASHY sent you.
Yeah, what rashy said. Also an old trick is to put Holley jets in there to reduce the flow to the top end - sadly, I can't remember what size we used to use. Maybe someone else knows this trick and can help out...
OH YEAH, The Holley jet thing. Phil (FTF) was telling me about that. He even told me the size but can't remember. Is .o94 a possibility? Email him, he'll know. Be sure it's email as he may not check his p.m.'s

Damn Neppy, that's a good website, that'll come handy soon. I have a 390 from a '63 T-Bird, and it's built unique enough to constantly be learning new things about it. Makes up for the hard-to-find and often expensive custom/speed parts for it.
