Need help identfying this Generator that came on a 36' Ford I purchased some time ago, never seen another one like it and would like to know what the original application is. Ford Garage lists it as a Model 68-10000-A but doesn't state application. Thanks

I've never seen anything shaped like that with those weird bumps. I'd guess it's some high-output generator for a police car or ambulance with a siren. Definitely has the 30's front mount and pulley on it.

That is a heavy duty one for something like a Police radio car or ambulance...Ford made a LOT of different generators for these odd applications even though 95% of actual Fords used the standard one!
There were fat ones like yours and there were long ones that actually required manifold with setback carb...
The best set of information would be in any of the late 1930's parts manuals, which have drawings of all the models. Most of the oddities are gone in the post WWII books. I'll see if i can find info on it, but it is pretty much a paperweight.
