    Flathead piston ring question:
How much (max.) end gap have You accept 221cid, 239cid engines?

I have put together 1-2 ford flathead every winter and note that piston ring end gap is vary.

I have note that sometimes end cap is very good, sometimes very much. Now Im putting together my 221cid flathead and end cap is rather much,...... Think that maybe need to order next size rings and cut those to min. end cap measurement.

Normally I use street engines 0.004" / 1" bore end gap.
    Blower, NOS,... little more.

In this case (221cid 21bolt flathead):
    - Bore 3.0625 +045 = 3.1075"
    - Grant Rings are 3.0625 +040 and end gap will be 0.033" (0.010" / 1" bore).

Need to order today new rings 050 oversize and fit ring By ring.
I was make misstage when I ordered those 040 rings, but now I was thinking that if I order 045 rings, End Gap can be still too big,...
