Can someone help me to identify this part? I think it is for a 60hp Ford flathead v8, but I am not sure.
Looks like a distributor adapter. To run an upright distributor on a pre-42 front cover. I've never seen on shaped exactly like that one.
All you have to do is find what distributor will fit in it. Perhaps someone can help if you give the diameter of the hole where the distributor fits and the depth down to the drive gear that is inside the housing. It is a rare and neat part if you can identify what distributor fits in it. Part is likely from the early '50's so it would have to be from some other engine family available then.
I am with Alchemy, That is an adapter to run an 8BA distributor in a 41 or earlier Flathead. I am assuming it came from an engine in Europe,,considering the OP is in Sweden. There were a lot of different pieces made over there that we never saw here. Just like all the Flatheads that have come from France recently. Who knew they had made them years later over there. Tommy
