Ok guys, I tried the search function and can't seem to find what I am looking for. Will the frame from a '51 Ford fit under a '53 Customline? I know this is a odd question so I'll try and make this make sense. I'm finishing up a '51 ford ch***is with nice running gear and a full detail job but the body is a roach, I found a killer deal on a '53 coupe that has a pretty decent body but is a mechanical mess......... See where I'm going with this haha! We are building the '51 as a fund raiser for some tools we need but we will have so much time and money into the body that it will kill any profit we would make. I know in '54 Ford went to the balljoint frontend but I was wondering if the ch***is before that were interchangeable. I know this seems like a hairbrained scheme but we really need to get out of this '51 without getting killed on the money end of things so I am exploring all options. We are talking about just selling the ch***is as a roller as well and parting out the rest of the car. I know this is a long winded post so thanks for reading it and for any advice you can offer!
Try the website www.lovefords.com I am pretty sure you can find out the wheelbase lengths of them,If I'm right the 52-54 Fords are 6-7" longer than a 49-51 Ford.
