I have been trying to get a 46' Ford tudor sedan (g series flat 6 motor) sorted after inheriting it from my father. It runs smooth around the block but once I get up to 55 plus MPH it dies out after a few min. I have replaced the coil, fixed any ignition wires outa place and put in a new condenser and Regulator. Yesterday found a vacuum leak on the intake manifold. Do these motors have a vacuum advance? I can't find an Inlet anywhere on the dist... Thank you in advance!

Running out of fuel? Try with the gas cap off. the early "G" series 6's use a vacuum brake like the V-8s ,no vacuum can. Remember the old saw " when you are SURE it's ignition work on the fuel system" and vise versa !

Thanks John! I am new to this this, can you explain what a vacuum brake is and does? I am trying to make sure I am not missing and parts, would there be a line from the intake to the dist.?
