I have a chopped 1930 ford model A fordor and I am in need of a upper wood kit. And I don't really want to spend 1500 on it. I bought a new wood header. And the wood ribs the go from side to side across the car. My thinking was to brace the sides up with metal but still give it the wood look with the ribs. I'm wanted to run a open roof with the option to put a snap on canvis top if I would like. Has anyone else done anything similar to this? Or if anyone has a upper wood kit for sale. I would be interested in that as well.
I did the removeable cover thing on my tudor. The thing I can say is sew in a thin strip of metal (aluminum) on the leading edge and use the push ****on type snaps on the front. standard snaps can be used on the sides and rear, this has held up to over 100 mph for over 3 years.
