Technical Ford Model A Vega box to 525 swap ?

Has anyone with a Model A swapped out there Saginaw 140 (Vega) steering box with cross steer to the larger 525 box ?

Other than the input shaft being longer requiring a change how your column connects the 525 it is a direct bolt in.

 

525 is overkill on a Model A

 

It’ll bolt to the same mount but is much bigger and may not clear motor mounts.

the c3 corvette input worm will go in a gm 525 and have a quick input.and the input shaft itself is just the stub - or you dont have the 3 inches sticking out of it so youi can swap for a power 800 and suchlike

the 1980 camaro manual pitman arm is the one that fits them and is straight, plus it has a wee small hole in it enabling the opening out of it for a early ford tie rod
