I have a 58 Custom 300 Ford with a 351 windsor motor. The motor mount poly part of the mount has melted and caused engine to drop about 1/2 inch or so, just enough to make fan hit shroud. I bought the car with this motor in it and the mounts do not have a maker or any numbers on them. Does anyone know of anyone making a mount for this combo. Gearheads list one for this application, but they don't answer phone. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for looking

  2. A picture of the type of mounts would help. If they are the "biscuit" type, a lot of vendors have just the biscuits.

Those mounts could be just about anything, and not necessarily Ford. In other words, what ever the installer could find and make work. Post some pictures for us to see. I dropped a 351W into a '57 Ranchero using full size Bronco mounts, once upon a time.

Check the 52-59 thread in the off topic column, it is pinned to the top.

  6. The only 'factory' mount that may put a Windsor into a '58 is the '63-64 full-size Ford mount for a 289 IIRC. You need to drill a new mount-to-frame bolt hole as Ford used a single bolt to the frame after '58. There are others that will work with various mods also. The trouble is these don't all put the motor in exactly the same place or the place where yours may be. The '54-58 V8 mounts were all the same, then they changed. Now, I did a 351W swap into a '56 using '71 351 LTD mounts, but I built an intermediate adaptor to connect the mount to the frame without drilling it as well as correcting the different mount angle. I used to have the dimensions on that, but lost it in a hard-drive crash, sorry...

Without seeing what you have, it's impossible to advise you. Although if it's urethane, it's probable a late '80s/early '90s Mustang mount as I have seen those in urethane.

The 52-59 group has a ton of great information and it wound up in its own special place due to some of it being off topic. But it’s still here so we’re more than pleased.

These mounts will work when doing a 289-351 swap in 1954-59 Ford cars. Pictures and part numbers are here too, be sure and read the comments for extra info. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/media/albums/289-302-351w-swap-mounts.41498/

Not off topic. The link is to the old 52-59 social group. Lots of info about 302/351 swaps there
