Ford OD trans question

    Is it possible or practicle to swap a mid fifties OD unit onto a non OD Ford transmission?

    Bolt in, but driveline length may be different............OLDBEET

    I have read that there is a reverse pin that goes through the back of the trans case into the OD case, is this true? is it as simple as drilling the non OD case for this?

    There is a rail that goes through the back of the case - I've never compared them side-by-side (usually try to keep parts w/intermingling between projects!).

    I do know there is a Chevy conversion to put an OD tail onto a non-OD 4-spd ******...
