I have a 49 ford with overdrive. While changing the master cylinder I noticed that the 4 wire connector to my overdrive kick-down switch was broken off at the switch. I replaced the kick-down switch and was careful to replace the wire exactly as they were on the old switch. The problem is that now when I turn on the ignition switch the overdrive drive solenoid clicks and I don't ever remember hearing that before. Does anyone out there know if this is suppose to happen? Or could someone tell how the switch is suppose to work so I could chase the problem down. thanks for any help.

Paul, Google "techno Flathead". There is a lot of info on the overdrive. Might have to search a bit but it's there.
