I have some new (old stock) Ford rear main crankshaft bearings. I need help researching some part #'s. I did some lookin' but had no luck. Here are the #'s. 1. 18-6331-C 2. 81A 6331-F2 3. 52-6331-G 4. 1GA-6337-A 5. 68-6331-C. Thanks for any info or tips that may lead to the year and/or model of engine these bearings go to.
18 prefix: .010 under, for use with early '32-36 crank in late 1936-38 type block--this one should be real thick! 81A--F '39-48 V8, 010. Maybe the 2 means both halves are in box? 52-60HP, '37-9, .010 1GA 6337-A6 cyl '41-7, lower rear main, standard 68 -C, late '36, '37-8 21 stud, 010
Thanks for the reply. Is this information in a book somewhere or are you really good with Ford part #'s? I have alot of parts like this and would like to know what motors they are for. Thanks again, 50 Flord.
What you need is the "Green Bible", the '28-48 Ford parts compilation, and perhaps the '49-59 one too if you have later stuff. Most parts can be guessed at fairly well from the prefix #, which gives information on year of introduction and engine or car type. Early Flathead bearings are getting scarce.
