This was going to be a Nascar-styled pickup, now its going road racing with a custom round tube chassis and Dodge Viper suspension, brakes, and wheels.

OK .... I guess . So what is the point of a road race truck ??????
It's your's and you bought it , but why not get a fiberglass p/u to screw up into a road race truck ?
It's going to be a real shame to see such a nice truck go to waste !
But like I said ...........it's yours to destroy !

True Dat! Get a fiber clone of your truck to race and use the Real deal to pull it to the track. US BODY SOURCE has a complete fiber model. Ready to slap down in a tube frame.

What a cool project! This is probably not the right forum for it, but i guess you know that by now. That thing will be great, I can picture it ripping around a track, looking like an old work truck just smoking the 'vettes!!!
Very ambitious, good luck, i for one would like to see how it turns out.

Nobody here said you can't build it your way..... but this is not the forum for a road race truck.... you put up the post to see what everyone had to say about it so now don't cry about the comments.......

do what you wish with it. granted it doesnt follow traditional guide lines, it still has potential to be a cool project. are you planning to actually race it? where in vancouver are you?

  22. I love it. Yet again someone posts about a project not relevant to the specific focus of this site, then does the defence post after it is not warmly welcomed.

Funnily enough, you said this: "I see so many projects that are built like they did "way-back-when." Well that is exactly the core of what this place is about!

Shit man, do what you like, but this site is not for that kinda project.
