Ford Rotor - Wheel Center Bore Clearance

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Revived 265, Jan 8, 2013.

  1. I don't have search function so I've got to ask you guys.

Ford 4.5" bolt pattern wheels won't fit the front rotors of my car. I've tried older Mustang, Ranger and Crown Vic steel wheels and all of these bottom out on the rotor bearing boss prior to the face of the rotor. I can see that there is a raised section close to the face of the rotor on the rotor bearing boss that is about 3/8" wide. Best I can measure, it's some 80 thousandths difference. So, what do I do? Turn down the rotor boss or enlarge the wheel ID. Works fine with Aluminum wheels, prefer the steels, The rear is a 9" ford and the ranger wheel fits exactly, but not on the front.

    Would appreciate the help.
