I posted this on the main forum but I thought I would try over here as well, I did a search and couldn't find my answer. I was wondering if anyone knew if the 351 Windsor has the same cast on the block for the motor mounts to bolt to as a 302? Year of the 351w is un known and the 302 is from a late 70's Van. A buddy of mine is hooking me up with a decent 302 and a C4 that run and drive so I'm wanting to rip out the 351w and drop the 302 in so I can drive my car. But!!! yes there's a but.....I don't want to have to redo my mounts as the 351w will be going back in once it's built up a bit
I believe they are all of the conversion kits I have seen to drop a late model engine into the 54 shows the 302 and 351w using the same mounts. http://www.jamcosuspension.com/products/sfID1/3/listPage/2/productID/161
260, 289, 302, 351C, and 351W all use the same mount. The 351W oil pan is different from the 302. tnrotter
well to install a 302 in a 55 56 ford you need 76 f-150 302 mounts and use a 1 inch spacer between th block and the mount . given the 351 has a taller deck height you might be able to get away without the spacer . other wise all windsor and cleavlands use the same motor mount
