Does anyone out there know what year/application this column/box/wheel is from?
Looks like F1 flange on the box. pitman arm is splined. Early 40's pickup, maybe?[IMG]

My guesses, steering wheel is an A, the column drop is a 37, the box, column cover and pitman are are F-1.

  3. looks to me to be early F1,column,box,wheel and drop prob from late 30's early 40's,the pitman arm is a recirculating ball like model a,and the steering drag link also looks late 30's
    maybe 37'-39' F1

Steering wheel is definitely not A. Technically there wasn't really an F-1 designation until 1948 I believe. But, I had been thinking 41 1/2 ton. It appears to all be a complete unit that is all from the same vehicle. does anyone know what would be different in a late 30's/early 40's big truck?
There is a barely visible rectangle in the center of the horn button with the Ford script in it.

Thanks for the responses so far.

  5. It's not F-1......looks like early 40's big truck.I think the big trucks had the 4 spoke wheel. Also has no light switch on the wheel. your first guess was pretty close.....

I think it's a big truck from the 40s. I don't know what years but I do know that a 40 Ford truck reproduction horn button and spring fits it perfectly. I'd guess 40-47 but that's just a guess. I believe the 30s trucks still had horn and light rods. I think 40 was the first year for the conventional horn button. I liked it because it looks like a 4 spoke 40 wheel. I never found a use for it yet.

The exact same column AND wheel in my 1947 1.5 ton......

half tons had 2 or 3 spoke steering wheels....... (pending early or late 40's)
