Technical Ford steering wheel interchangeability

Hey guys. I have a 54 ford customline im building. I have a line on a nice 50 ford steering wheel, just curious what years are interchangeable. I have a 47 ford wheel for my model a thats keyed, was 49 the start of the splined shafts? If so is it the same shaft as my 54 ? Appreciate any info
