I put a new motor in this car with a cross ram. Now I'm thinking about a t-bolt style hood bulge. I seem to remember that they put these on all kinds of cars but I can't find any photos. Y'think?

Altered wheelbase Nova? Teardrop scoop? Why not?! I'm pretty sure the teardrops on Tbolts were intended to let air OUT. The carbs were fed air by hoses coming from the headlight buckets. Cool car by the way. Bet ya have no problem pulling the front wheels!

The teardrops are always going to be regarded to guys like me, who were "there" in the 60's as a Ford thing. Fairlanes, Falcons, and Galaxies...
It just has the "Ford" trademark, when I see one.
Personally, I'd go with the two straight scoops that were used on the Mopars and Chevy's.

Anyone my age is gonna think "Ford" when they see a teardrop...there's no getting out of our minds.

Either way, you have a great project going there!!!!!!

crites restorations has been making them for years. Mine required a bit of work to make me happy, but then again its fiberglass, and it always needs work-

When I see a Teardrop scoop I think "60's", not necessarily Ford. I seem to recall several early Chevy II's running tear drop scoops in the late 60's. Even a '57 or two.

Don't know if it would be big enough but I always thought a '67 Vette style scoop without the "stinger" coming out of the front looked good on the Novas.

I'll ad this just for giggles...

Now, since both Ford and Chevy made a 427 motor, you still wouldn't want to put this on your Ford...even though you did have a 427 in it...right?

Some things are just CHEVY and some things are just FORD....

Just the very fact that you are asking for opinions tells me that you are uncomfortable with an out-right decision to go with the teardrop...so I give you props that you are willing to open yourself up to opinions...

now back to your bitchin project...looks good!!!

Truck scoop kinda has a Super Duty Poncho vibe though.Way better then a 70's era snorkel. My brother and I have been trying to figure out a scoop for his awb Nova also.We are thinking ether a Max Wedge or the cast aluminium scoops with the ribs.I think they might be a Cal Custom piece.

I think your chevII is bitchin. I'm w/ mazooma on the t-bolt scoop thing. I didnt even like the small bubble(t-bolt) on mine, so i put a galaxie one on it. What about a garage built ''version'' of the hemi dart ''style'' scoop in engine turned aluminum, or scotchbrited stainless.

Funnycar65;;,,yep ,,you're right ,,the Tunnel Ram we ran on that Big Block in the Camaro stuck up pretty high ,,plus we had to leave room for the different carbs we ran ,,we were sponsered by CARTER ,,so at shows & in transet ,,we had Carter AFB's on it ,,but at the Races ,we switched to Holleys ,,thus all the decals on the see thru scoop ,to hid the Holleys ,,

Personally I couldn't do it. Too many Ford and Chevy wars to cross contaminate now.
