This might not be hamb material, but it is vintage drag car stuff so... I know the thunderbolts where 1964's, But I'm going to pick up a 65 fairlane 2dr today, and I want to do a 60's stlye drag car. I love the look of the thunderbolts, so I was thinking a fiberglass teardrop hood, and a few other fiberglass parts (fenders, bumpers) Mostly stock interior with added tach, and I want one of those cool indudction systems that feed through the 2 inner headlights, ect...... Does anyone have any pics of period correct '65 drag cars? There kinda hard to find (I tryed google and others) Thanks for the help.
crites fiberglass would be the place to go, but probably not for the 65. it was a one yr only car.good luck.
there's a guy building a similar car on the FORD MUSCLE site. might help you to look at his progress.
I looked at crites, They acctually have a 65 teardrop hood, at a decent price too. Thanks for the help.
Crites has a 65 teardrop hood and a glass front bumper. They also have headers ,ram air etc. Ford made two 65 Fairlanes for Drag Racing. The Thunderbolt of Darrell Droke( 1 of 1 427 ) and the small block car for Les Ritchey. The Les Ritchey car is being restored as we speak in Texas. The T Bolt is MIA. Look at the T Bolt thread for pics or pm me
Here are a few scans of the Droke Fairlane that I have collected from the internet: Sorry I can's give credit for the posters but they must have been copied before I started keeping a record. They are probably from some of the fine folks on the Yahoo SS forum. Late in the season
The second pic down is by far my Favorite and a great one to show all the " Ford Experts " that say a 65 T Bolt was never made...
