Checked for the availability of back issues for this article from the December 1990 issue of Street Rodder and they are not available.

Have had numerous requests for copies of the PDFs of the how to do.

Thought the easiest way would be to post them so they would be available to everyone.

Thanks - will be a big help for all those requesting info! Now if we had the 2004 Street Rodder articles as well, that would just top it off nicely!

Thanks, good info to have in one place. Frank Oddo wrote such great tech stuff, now we don't hear anything. Anyone have any knowledge of Frank today?

  7. I'm hopeful that the Rodders Journal does a bio, they do it so well.

    Nice post Canuck!
I've been using this 3-speed setup for years, was surprised when Frank Oddo did the article he didn't mention the size of the gears.

Fiurst time I pulled one of these boxes out of a later Ford ('69 fullsize car, 302 W, 3 speed top loader, customer's car; front bearing noisy) I nearly 'snapped'...

Removed top plate, gears were wider than my LaSalles! And the case had provisions for the small and large bellhousing patterns!
AND, it sure looked like the floorshift ****** the CJ-5 used...
    Turned out, It was!

I wasn't aware of the 4-speed going the same route, however...until Frank's article.
