I remember first hearing about the 8 t in the vintage Ford, recently I found it at the speedster reunion. IMG_2023-06-23-12-36-37-953.jpg

Hi Folks, sorry it's been a while. Life sorta got complicated about 3 years ago and I had to sell up a lot of my stuff. The Gin Runner went north to a friend and I put the TwinT parts in storage, I've been back in full time work at the zoo ever since. Fixing up a '56 Landrover 86" there in my breaks which should be back on (and off) the road soon then I plan to pull the TwinT back out and work on it at my workplace. Hopefully, there will be some updates soon!

Think you are right, pretty sure that is Pendine Sands in Wales.

OK folks, just a bit of an update.. Ive been rummaging through the parts stash over the past week and have made some decisions. As the two T motors that I have set aside for the TwinT are pretty much rebuilt and just need a freshen up and also both 1926 motors, I think I have a fighting chance to get the power plant together and running in 2026 and possibly built into a simple rolling ch***is. I have got a ch***is lined up and have axles available too so not an awful lot to find or make. So with that in mind I pulled the arp off the pile at work and got the two motors on a pallet ready to move and also dug out the 1/2 built extended oil pan .. Ive started to build a timber bench to support the oil pan at a comfortable height at the back of our works metalwork shed and hope to mount the oil pan onto it early next week... let the games begin!!

The '28 Chev motors need considerably more work and thought so will follow once the TwinT is sorted.

This sketch is an idea I’ve been playing with in my head for a while is based on the Gerber special but splaying both sides of the ch***is rails and using a pair of 1/4 elliptic springs. It would help lower and declutter the rear end and also let me get the two seats down between the ch***is rails

I like that idea a lot. A two-engined, two-seated Gerber. Holy smokes. Nice job on the sketch, as well.

I would be concerned with the rear springs not having enough of a solid support from those frame extensions. No side to side strength shown (rear crossmember). Perhaps something rising up so the vertical was doubled? That would get in the way of humans, though.
If the extensions were flexible, the spring rate and control would be off. If they were stiff, the mounts would be under huge stress.
Just cons***utive critique, hope you can get it working.

Yes that does make sense, perhaps a floor welded in under seats and a structural U shaped torque tube cover to stiffen it all up

This is how the Mad Scotsman in Oz did it on his Gerber IMG_5723.jpeg IMG_5722.jpeg

The crossmember under the driver’s thighs is a creative solution.
