i have a pair of 31 model a twolite headlamps. i can not get the headlight rim off of the headlight bucket. they are stainless steel so should not be corroded. any ideas? i don't want to wreck the headlight rims by prying on them.
    thanks

  2. The old Ford headlights are the easiest to take apart. Must be dirt or something else in between the edges. Hope it,s not some gunky sealer. Can you get a bit of movement at the bottom edge and then push the rim up about 1/8th of an inch. Then you should be able to flip the rim over the small hidden clamp at the top edge.

  3. Pull the spring loaded clip loose at the bottom and then push the ring away from the bucket near the bottom. There is a tang holding the rim at the top that would create a problem of you tried to force the ring away from the bucket at the top. A little penetrating oil might help.
