i am looking for ideas about what to do for a tailgate... is there anybody out there who makes a 61 unibody oem one? i had one and a 'friend' of mine was nice enough to junk it (long story). yes, it's now a piece of wood which can conveniently slide into place... and no, i don't want to use those nylon ones from that auto parts store. any ideas?

  2. Most of them trucks I've seen were made into trailers.... [IMG]..look one up and trade [or buy] their tailgate.

  3. Dennis Carpenter offers one. I have heard mixed reviews as to whether or not they fit right. The Ford Unibody 1961-1963 trucks were very unique and no other tailgate is going to fit. My truck didn't have one when I got it and after five long years of searching for a good one under a $1000.00 I ended up making my own.

Sac vintage sells them new. I think they are around $400.00 or so. But as Elpolacko said I don't know how they fit.
