I just found a 29 Ford roadster in a barn in the middle of a wheat field. It had been there for over 60 years. It was mounted on a 26 T running gear. I sold the running gear and plan on finding a frame to put a flathead or a hopped up B.. I talked to a guy that has a Ford V8 60 that might work. I have a T5 for the project. I also have a 49 Ford 3/4 ton pickup with a 49 Merc engine that I could use. Any ideas? Do you think a Model A frame would work?

Use the Merc. Sell the V8-60 to a midget racer. Gary

  3. What Gary said. As one who has experience with V8 60's, you will find it more trouble than it's worth. Time you get one built up enough to make any usable power, you'll have a lot more in it than it's big brother, and drivability on the street will suck.

Use the Merc. Even if this is a cruiser build and not intended to go fast, the 60 horse will never get you any where and is un-reliable.
