Spent 75 years in Texas;now reside on “right” coast/Lewes,Delaware;first city of first state—-established 1624/French flatheads first arrived in Texas Dec.1999—I was the salesman for the project/my friend was the money man!!
This was the one that came with my coupe back in 1981, ‘48 Mercury motor (so I was told) with a Hogan - New Zealand made, twin carb manifold . Some downloaded from the HAMB Credit to the owners who originally took the time to post their photos….. Green one at the bottom is my favourite.
I don't know what it is about flatheads... but they just look so right in traditional builds... and cool..
^^^^^^^ wow ! that’s just a flathead overload, just tooooo much ! Amazing. I just close the hood, although I don’t think thats an option for yours. I think that is even nicer out of the car as you get to see all of the shiny bits…….. @Kiwi 4d and @Bandit Billy - thanks for posting ! bttt
The ones i was working on today, 59a all hopped up with cheater heads, merc crank. Adjustable lifters and cam. 3x2 Evans intake
That last one, was one of my favourites when I first started on my journey looking into flatheads. Seven years later I got mine started two weeks ago. A local car.
I remember the thread, ( as I was trying to figure out how the coolant pipes worked). Flathead looks great, as does that test stand/trolley, - that is the nicest/most elaborate test stand that I’ve seen………..
Ah yes, but I have issues. I love engines, the more unique, the better. And the shinier, the betterer.
