I"ve searched the forum for about 300 search posts and can't find the answer. Found lots of disk brake questions though! I'm buying some spindle mount wheels that I would prefer to be for Ford spindles. I've had lots of them in the past but I currently have no ford spindles or a set of wheels to measure. The seller isn't sure which spindles these wheels are for. Can anyone take a quick measurement of their spindle mount wheels and tell me the size of either a Ford or Anglia wheel center? If I know one, that will tell me the other. Thanks.

Yes, it can be done. I'm just curious as to what size these currently are.

  4. We sold Fritz a pair of dragster spokers that mount on early Ford spindles. Try contacting him.

I have sets of both in my garage, but I wouldn't be able to get you an answer until Monday. Specifically, what dimensions are you looking for? Hub width? diameter of the bore? Both?

The set of 12 spokes were supposed to be anglia spindle when they were shipped to me, but turned out to be Ford. I kept them anyway and found some anglia wheels that I could use.

Let me know if I can help out.

Thanks. I am looking for both the hub width and the bore diameter. There is a set here in town but I haven't been able to get over to measure them and won't till saturday at least. Just as importantly, I thought the answer should be on the HAMB here somewhere as it is a fairly common question. Hopefully we'll help others out down the road.

I got in late last night and did a quick check on the wheels, didn't have access to anything but a machinists rule. The biggest difference is the hub width. The fords' are much wider.

The 15" 12 spokes, from what I've read, were only made for ford and anglia spindles. The ones I have are not anglia. The hub width is approx 4 5/8".

My car has anglia spindles and a set of 5 spokes. They are about 3 3/8" through the hub.

The difference between the two is pretty obvious if you have a spindle and both wheels to look at. If you need more measurements are some pictures, just let me know. I'll be around for the next few days.

  12. Scoob,
Someone probably alreay answered this but the Anglia spindles are longer. Not a problem you just have the counter bore made deeper.

The bearing size shouldn't be a problem either, you just go to a bearing house with specs and buy bearings that fit.

All those wheels had the same hubs thay just machined them for a specific application.
