Does anyone know when Ford changed from the 2 9/16" centre bore used in early 50's (1953-57) to the later large 2 3/4" bore used in the early 70's?

Any charts that I have found list 57 and up as 2 3/4".

Have one wheel with the larger bore and older styled centre and trying to find a mate for it.

    Thanks.

Not trying to be a smart-***, Jim, but if the 2-9/16" bore was used from '53-'57 and the charts list '57 and up as 2-3/4", wouldn't it be pretty safe to ***ume the 2-3/4" started sometime in '57 ????

I don't know about you, but, I think that the internet is a great resource, BUT I do not have 100 per cent faith in everything published on the internet. The chart was a amalamation of a couple from various sites on the net.

I have more faith in information provided by someone on a site such as the HAMB where it is based on personal experience.

Don't think you are being a smart-***, just the background on why I am looking for this info.
