Two questions; 1. When did Ford stop the 5 on 4.5 pattern on p***enger car wheels? 2. Did Ford cars ever have a 16-inch steel wheel with the 5 on 4.5 pattern.

    Thanks, John

I'm not sure Ford ever stopped using the 5x4.5 but my OT '03 Ranger has 16" steel wheels with 5x4.5 bolt pattern. I think they come on plain Jane Explorers, also and maybe some Crown Vic police interceptors.

Crown Vic police interceptors pre 2003 had 16inch steel wheels. The back spacing on then may not work well on old iron, and they are wide wheels with holes in them

I don't know when or if it stopped using 5 on 4.5, but 1949 p***enger car Fords were their first with 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. 16" wheels were standard, station wagon wheels were 15s. Some International trucks in the 50s also had 16" 5 on 4.5 wheels.

Studebakers had a 16" wheel with 5 on 4.5 b.p. that resembled a 40 ford wheel. I used them on my old 31 I have a few sets if interested. Plus plymouth artilleries are 16x 4 with a 5 on 4.5 b. P. have some of those also if interested they look like the ones on the rpu posted on the bottom of the post
