In 1959,I was lucky I thought:D,to get a 1955 Thunderbird 292 engine n 3 speed:p out of a crash.. I had been looking for some time for any OHV V8 for as close to free as pos.;) Like the rest of my hotrod build, much more time hunting parts and then clean up an use. The "Y" was the last big part ,to now add to my Bobtailed 28A Roadster> as its old body had been crashed in the backend pretty bad/ so just cut off what I could not fix[ as a teen]. It was my sr high school ride,I liked it ,so kept it still*. Made my own speed stuff mostly, later got some Ford alum "T" covers,an homemade 4x2 intake from cutting up a drive shaft.
Now days,I use a Alt. vs the old gen. an update to alum rad.

I have a question what is that link from the wishbone to axle bolt that goes to the steering arm

Not sure I understand the question so here goes: 1) the steering arm is disconnected from the pitman arm and is laying on the floor beneath the steering box making that look funky 2) the wishbone-axle bolts have a goose neck bend towards the backing plate. By the look of the picture angle, that appears to meld into the tie rod but not so. Just an illusion.
Please let me know if I answered or missed your question.

A really old, grainy picture of one I had in a '56 Ford 2 door wagon. 292 bored .125 which gave it 312 cu. in., Jahns 12-1 pistons, Isky or Weber cam, polished and ported "G" heads with lightened valves and a -B intake running a large AVS carb from a Lincoln. Backed up by a T-10. Not as nice appearing as the ones posted above, but it was a fast car in it's day... 312.jpg

Not pretty, just a mock up on a core motor I have. Leading me to realize I didn’t have the technical or financial means to make it work on the street. “The things dreams are made off” 41C0C1BF-7F7F-4A88-9D6C-4E5DAA56D287.jpeg 41C0C1BF-7F7F-4A88-9D6C-4E5DAA56D287.jpeg 405BC858-DCA1-4076-B89B-AE57CE8B43C1.jpeg

    Sorry about the double picture.

Doable with SBC’s…..engines are just air pumps and constant flow injectors don’t know what they are on.
