I've got a 57 Ranchero with a froze 272. I want to drop something in it just to motor around the yard while working on the body. I found a 292 pretty cheap close by. Will it bolt it? Old Ford engines are not my thing. Any other ideas. Central coast of CA. Thanks.

Yep ,all the Y blocks should interchange no prob. as far as the basic engine goes. Some of the old engine accs. may need to be swapped.

  5. yep it should drop right in.. If it came out of a truck or a t-bird it will have a mounting plate on the front at the bottom of the timing cover but you won't need that i don't think
