So, the starter came loose in the '54 and snapped the ear off the bellhousing. I need a new bellhousing quick.

If anyone has a lead, I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Mark

If you still have the ear, get it welded back on. Many of those starter bolts should be a shoulder bolt, and they do seem to like to loosen themselves.

I've got a steel bellhousing that came with my '52 Vicky. Flathead V8 to 3-speed. It's yours for the freight if it'll do the job...

the ear is long gone. i couldnt find it anywhere. right now, mctim64 might have one for me.

is alan freeman his hamb name too?

the bell from a flatty won't work on a Y.

plus, it's the goofy air-cooled one with the backwards facing scoops.

    Mark,

I have a bellhousing from a '54 but it is pretty heavy. Shipping could be hefty. I am in Tennessee, where are you located?
