I bet the blue and grey ones got there quicker than the pinkish one.

Wow, it feels like this turned into a homework****ignment. A few different websites have burgers served numbers that seem to match, but did they all just copy from each other? For what it's worth, here are some numbers from McDonald's timeline and a couple of the other articles I found. Over 15 million burgers by 1955, 100 million in 1958, 400 million in 1960, 700 million in 1962. In 1963, the one billionth burger was sold live on the Art Linkletter TV show. Enough of that. Let's get some pictures in here!

12 Million! Not sure - tail light profile on car in bottom right corner?

Appears to be a '52/3/4 Ford looking at the tail light and roof line.

Just to be fair to some of the other places catering to hungry motorists...

  7. Quality parking by the driver of the 54!
Have a look at the similarity between the rear / side window shapes and c pillars on the 54 vs the Falcon.

How about a place to enjoy a meal for those who don't want to chance spilling anything in their nice, clean cars? Looking more at the details in this picture, maybe it is a service station with pennants tied to poles above the lot instead of a lunch counter?

And how about a place to get some food to cook at home?

Special on pork tenderloins, 10 million stamps, $6000 cash, and $12000 groceries all sound good. It's too bad that who ever set up the promotion wasn't a Ford fan. All of those Pontiacs might cause some indigestion around here!

I think it is safe to say that this place is a restaurant...

Filling up for a road trip! Better watch out for Jeff's radar patrol car if these ladies are passing through Missouri!

sad thing about that video is most of us can remember when that was sop along with the windshield cleaning.they would also bring the dipstick to show you it was full or needed top up.then you could also ask for the bulk oil in the glass bottles.as archie said those were the days

LTD - according to the license plate anyway! Is this 1954? I thought that the LTD wasn’t available until about 1965.

Chevrolet started making that style of pickup in 1960. The car behind the overturned Ford is a 1959. I don't think the license plate has anything to do with the model of the car.
