Kinda off topic a bit, but I love the internet. Hardly ever watch tv anymore. I was looking at that pic above and tried to read the sign in the background. Looked to me to read "Victor restaurant", which given the buildings and mountainous landscape, I got to wondering if it was Victor Colorado, an old mining town not too far from where I lived for 23 years. I googled Victor, and looking thru tons of photos was inconclusive. I got sidetracked when I saw links to picture tours of back roads in the area that many I'd been on. Most are old train track beds converted to roads after the gold mining boon stopped. Anyway, two hours later I'm still doing photo tours of Colorado highways..planning in my mind which I'd want to do with the '57.
Like I said, I love the internet, and thanks Jeff for the unintentional diversion.

75? %$#@!! No snow here yet, but it's been in the teens a few days..suppose to get down to 7 tommorrow night.
That parade picture with all the old Fords is reminiscent of current pictures with guys just driving into a fairground somewhere.
That 56 Convertible is awesome....just doesn't get any better looking than that imho.

1956 and 57 were big years for Ford and Mercury in the NASCAR win columns. The Y block really dominated.

In post number 221, I wonder how #70 went airborne? Anyone know what track that is?

Great 54 wagon, wish I had it. I have never seen one of those stations before.

That 58 Bonneville in the background looks pretty sweet. I wonder if it's a fuelie?

I'm not sure what the cop in the 3rd pic is holding, but it sure looks like it could make somebody confess.
