I am getting ready to install the gl*** in my Tudor and have a question. The gl*** is slightly longer than the gl*** retainer track. Is the slight overhang at the rear or front of the track? I have the repro retainers and the gl***, even with setting tape seems a little sloppy. Anyone using a gl*** adhesive or RTV product to firm it up? Thanking you all in advance for any information or input.

Most cases you center the channel and yes some people use the rubber "glue" instead of setting tape. If you use the glue make sure it has fully cured before installing the gl***. There are several different thicknesses of setting tape if the stuff you have fits loose.

You are aware that your gl*** has up-down movement plus back-forward movement for proper operating in the quarter gl***???
Look at your regulator and understand its workings real well....Gl*** rolled up to close,a littler more movement in regulator will move gl*** to the rear as a vent

Make a masonite pattern of your gl***, install it in the channel so its snug but not so it won't move. Then install that in the car with the regulator to roll it back and forth and down. Then you will know exactly where it needs to be. Most of the repo channels have the threaded stop bolt in the wrong location so the back and forth movement get bound up. This way you can see what does what and where to change things. Then make other side match those measurements. Ford had this style of operation from 34 to 40. Look through this build and it will show you how the windows work. It's a 34 but your rear windows work the same, fronts too, just a different layout of the parts.

Thanks one and all. I feel a little more comfortable proceeding with the install. That was quite a technical piece Johnboy, thanks. Always great information guys!
