...on the other hand if they think it is worth 30 G's it won't be going to the crusher any time soon.

gotta wonder... how much did you offer?

That car has been laying there a long time and I don't see any frame. It's possible it may be too wasted to salvage save for a few patch panels. I love it when one of these deals come up and everyone jumps on the bandwagon about how much they are worth and go get a stack of $'100's and wave them in front of the owner, etc.,etc. From what I see(and this would be after a closer examination) I'd take about $500 and if that didn't buy it.....................walk away. Does anyone honestly think that if the car has any REAL value it would be left laying on the ground and obviously abandoned? Reality check here folks, it can be on someone's property and owned by someone and still be abandoned,i.e. it's just laying there and not being cared for, so whatever the guy tells you about how much it's worth he's just fishing for a ****er from the city with more money than brains.

I found a 32 coupe sitting in a grown up yard in Farmersville, TX. I watched the car for
about 3 years, and even stopped to ask a neighbor about it. He told me that the old
man would run me off with a shot gun if I knocked on the door. About a month ago, I
returned to gawk at it again, to find out that it was gone, as most of the old man's
stuff was.. When I approached the house, I met the man's son, that was selling off
everything because his dad was in the hospital/nursing home and needed the money.
When I asked about the coupe, he said that it was a 32 Ford modified dirt car, that
was sitting on a '57 frame. Then he told me that he sold it to a guy that was looking
for cars to take to Oklahoma and crush. He sold it to him for $200.00. I about cried.
After watching it for over 3 years, it got away for $200.00. The fella that bought it
was from Greenville, TX. So if anyone's living in Greenville, and knows someone that
fits the bill, got offer the guy money for it and save it from the crusher. And then
let me know, so I can stop crying over it..

  5. **** that! the thief is the one that put his life's value equal to whatever he is taking, if you are stealing something from me, I'm gonna horizontally ventilate you and figure you thought about the odds and value beforehand....

the "Castle Doctrine" in many states includes all the land your home is on, and any possession thereon. That being said, it is illegal to shoot anyone that is not directly threatening (with grievious bodily harm) you, or your family or any other nearby innocent potential victim with a deadly weapon. If all he has is some wrenches and a tow chain, you'd be hard-pressed to claim self-defense in criminal or civil court.

I have several firearms, and a CCW for three different states. I'm never without a sidearm, but you have to excercise some restraint - even when you're just in here chatting. Attornies have been known to subpeona chat room text and other indications that you are an adversarial individual.

    just a thought....

I did not get it. I did go back and they had pulled it out and the doors came open (suicide doors) and were plowing in the ground and they just kept pulling. I was not there when they pulled it out but needless to say they destroyed that car. The a pillars were bent in half! I was sick. It was pretty rough and they decided to sell it when they destroyed it. I did get the garnish mouldings though. They have sold already.
