The car looks like a Nash to me, I think. That grille... or Kaiser/Frazier? Just looking at the bottom of the third picture..... not 100% sure.....

I'll just wait for the snow to melt.

  13. What, you couldn't brush the snow off with your hand so we could tell what we are looking at?

the car looks like a 49 plymouth. the truck thing looks like a mess.

  17. The Steering wheel position, the windshield, squared off hood all say Jeep to me.
It seems to be, at least, Jeep based.

  18. Might be a slat grille jeep ,,,,,, worth looking deeper

Maybe its an old volkswagon Thing? For those that dont know, "Thing" is the name of the vehicle.

  21. looks like an early "a" class jeep..or maybe ford GPW...4 banger is very tight in the bay..that tube crossing over was probably a fordging beather,,,should cut thru the cowl and have a turn uo...cin city area???probably over towards the indy line area..lots of old shit in the woods over that way...east side??would be rare..but the windsheild is early style if it is a jeep, the "3"s and up went tall hood short w/sheild,,,that and the fact that the fender is flat as can be,,,the early "a" series had short hood, tall w/sheild...here's a 46 "a" series...... 46 willys.jpg ..
it's been lifted...and the recessed marker lites are tip off of it being a war jeep, not a post war cj2a......early production 46...

The car looks Mopar and the truck looks military. I wouldn't be too quick to call it a jeep. When you look at the rear frame and see that it had dual wheels and heavy duty rear-end. Are there any ID plates or stickers on them that would give you an idea? If the car's a Chrysler, open the trunk and see if there's a body in it. If there is a body, look to see if there's an ID with the name "Hoffa" somewhere on it. If the name "Hoffa" is on the ID, stop touching anything, wipe your fingerprints off everything, back away from the vehicle and leave the woods. Now the next is very important, never and I mean never go back out to those cars again!!!!!

  24. No doubt about it, that's a 1947-48 Frazer Custon or Kaiser Special sedan. It's missing the trim piece above the grill center. Nothing to get excited about. Too bad, the 4dr convert didn't come out intil 1949.

The truck looks like a lost cause, but there might be some neat custom goodies to strip off the Kaiser ... other than that, I'd keep walking if you're looking for a project.

  27. think you're right...i saved and lightened it up..the front edges have slant back cut on the forward structure..for sure not a jeep...unless it's a modified amphioius (spell check???) model..but as far as dual rear wheeled, they put those under early military jeep products...that angular cut up front is what i don't get......but the hood reeks of jeep:eek:...

I'd have to agree. I used to have a '47 CJ2A and it looked a helluva lot like that.

The truck is WWII Ford. Nicknamed "Burma Jeep". Short nosed, and different to say the least. To a military restorer, relatively rare, and could be a fun project if you are into that kind of thing. May have some good parts for someone who is into them.

The tool box in the left side of the grille is the giveaway.
