The car has a '74 inspection sticker, and looks like its been sitting that long. It has '40 tail lights and a small chrome 3 spoke steering wheel, and still has a flatty in it. No one home so I left a note. Later
Cool! Hopefully "found" means "bought and own" . . . as that appears to be one heck of a good car to build from. Keep that flatty in it - along with that 39 trans and swan shifter. If it is a stocker that needs a rebuild, then update it, hotrod it and let us all hear that cool flathead sound! Dale
Man, I sure hope anyone who would come creeping into my barn, yard, or carport snapping pictures of my stuff leaves a note... because I would really want to talk to that person.
The license plate frame tells me the owner is most likely an enthuist and not some old farmer hoarding junk, good luck with it.
How many posts do you need to make to show cars possibly not for sale? Don't come onto my property snapping pictures. Nothing is for sale to anyone that forward.
If you go back to knock on the door and hear a distinctive "click" noise, turn around slowly with your hands up, the owner just chambered one.
Pictures of that nature mean track down beat down and don't come sneaking around again...you ultimatly deserve what you get....and quite honestly don't think you will own that car anytime in the near of forever future! Guy you really need to learn to stay away from peoples property and **** unless you are in FACT Invited.....Pretty BALLSY to say the Least!
Nice car, but you should be a little more considerate of other people's property. I would be highly pissed if I pulled up into my driveway and found you under the hood of my car. In fact, I'd probably be ready to fight over it.
I like the treasure hunt as much as the next guy, but if I found someone checking out my stuff - on my property - enthusiast or not - I would be sure that my new friend left well fed with some of my tasty knuckle sandwiches.
You sir are the people that we warn others about ! I can't believe you tresp***ed and then ....SAY.... you found it ..... I call bullsH*t ........You are very luckly no one FOUND you in their carport...................I live in NC and that DON'T WORK HERE....
I'll never forget the time me and my brother found a stash of Model T's in Taylorsville, N. C. When we were young we use to be just like you ,and go straight up and look at stuff without thinking anything would happen. We found a barn in the middle of the woods with a old house beside it that was half falling down. Went in the barn found 3 T tourings , a 26 roadster body and a 26 coupe, we went nuts it was like a dream. No one was around and we really looked the place over looking for parts etc. I decide to see what was in the old house. I boldly go up the front porch steps, pull open the door, and go inside. Well sitting inside was this backwards looking hillbilly with a shotgun in his lap, just like Beverly Hillbillys. He said , come on in and have a sit down. That scared the hell out of me so bad that all I did was run, thinking I was going to get shot. I would have bet a million dollars that nobody would have been living there. They weren't selling shine or meth, they just like living away from everybody else, no electricity either! What I'm trying to say is WATCH OUT looking at other peoples property, especially in N.C. I still keep tabs on the 26 coupe!
Yea, nobody can be so stupid to walk into a guy's garage and just start messing with a car without permission. Or so we hope.
I don't see anything wrong with checking out a car, especially if your not obviously being sneaky or tweaker-ish. If you got a camera and are taking pics, making an effort to look or notify the owner, just don't touch it. Meeting people in person sometimes takes a little courage or stupidity, not like on the computer! TP
looks like that auto is a unrestored show car. seems like maybe its been sitting acouple months depending on how close he is to a main road. figuring that it doesnt have a garage door. I have people come up to me when im working in my driveway and its like , yeah yeah ok later man. if i cought a guy on my sideyard or if my garage was open and he was taking pictures my blood pressure would seriously rise.
Just another example of why some people just one day disappear. Going into peoples carport/garage/barn taking pics, lifting hoods and nosing around uninvited is asking for it. Screw around with the wrong/right guy and you never know what might happen.
WOW.....nice car......no one likes old cars more than me.....but if I did not see someone actually in the carport messing with the car I don't think I'd have the nads to just drop by, check my car out & snap some pix......that was a bit ballzy. If i CAUGHT someone lurking around my garage/carport or behind my fence I ***ume they were up to NO GOOD. You would have meet my friend mr. AK-47 - both of us would be staring at you..... Not very cool ......... despite the kool car. Just my opinion/observation Paco
Yeah, even the 15 year old that wanted to buy my LeMans waited respectfully in my driveway on the way to school and waited for me to come out on my way to work.
Christ, go knock on the door but opening the hood?? **** that, I could even forgive a couple of pics. Did you jump in and try to start it, see how it drove?
