I am planning on keeping the 4 for my 29 coupe, and putting my 39 flathead in it. Drop it, whitewalls on stock 18's in back, 17's on front. I am going to take out the filled roof. It was done by nailing a piece of galvanized metal over the original opening and using filler to hide the mess. Original roof insert is un harmed when you look inside the car. I want an original insert for the top. Not sure about paint yet.

And I am very thankful for Thanksgiving dinner, I almost left early and would have missed the chance to talk to the guy.

It also has a non 32 steering column in it, I just looked. I can't identify it but the drag link is chromed, but patina now. Found a remnant of a speed sticker on the driver side back window. I really think this was an old hot rod.

In case anybody is wondering, the car on the other side of where she was parked is a 1914 Hupmobile touring, still had the original top folded down.

damn...all I scored over turkey diner was an old 9N Ford tractor with bush hog...

  7. Some cars just want to be a hot rod, and this is one of em. I can hear its screems of delight about not being restored.
Years ago, it was a happy little hot rod with its blue windows untill the last owner got it and started reversing things. It just sat in that shed crying untill you came along.
    Happy days again! LOL.

The fordor is one '32 body style I never wanted. While looking for more "desirable" models I came across a couple that were in excellent shape but I had no interest. NOW.............when I'm older and marginally wiser (and lust after a fordor) I can't locate one to save my soul. Why does the adage "live and learn" have to come so late in life.:D
    BTW, congrats on your acquisition.

  11. I came to the decision I wanted a '32 Fodor in about 1990. It took until 1995 before I found the one I would consider buying. I wished I had spent even more time looking as better ones showed up over the next few years. As I was looking people kept telling me that they were easy to find. They must have been living in the 1960's.

I agree that the fordors are hard to find. This is the only one I have ever seen with my own eyes, I am only 32 years old and this car was "parked" for longer than I have been alive. I have to admit that the car is awesome, I don't even see the 4 doors, I see a deuce and one that can haul a family. I am getting married in Sept of next year and hope to have the 29 coupe and the 32 fordor at the wedding! They are still out there guys, you just have to dig. This one fell in my lap and I feel so crazy *** excited that I litterally sat and looked at it while it is snowing for over an hour.

So what's wrong with that? Here's a couple mechanical cars.

But sounds like you have a good start on going juice. And if your going to drop it in the front it's a no brainer to go juice.

I love the comment about staring at the car for over an hour....I think there are a lot of guys on this board that can totally relate to that statement. Congrats. Keep it forever! or call me......:D

what a find! the ones that are pulled from the backs of garages and dust clouds always seem to be the most special. Best of luck with it!

  15. Nothing, OP writes juice brakes , i can only see mech, brakes. Same as i have on both my '32 Fords and they do work / stop really well.

I have the mechanicals to convert the the rear back or I have the juice to convert the fronts. Don't know which way I am heading yet. I am going to strip her down and start doing the minor bodywork that is needed. Ripping off the badly done filled roof is going to be the major bodywork. Where do I find a radiator that is reasonable for one of these for a flathead?? This radiator is for the 4 banger.

This is a picture my girl took the morning after I got her. I have been slowly taking her apart and restoring one part at a time inside the house. I have been working on the grill first and tonight I am pretty happy with where it's at. Spent all of yesterday and today on the insert alone. One more little bump to take out of the driver side shell and she is done.

Also I am going over the weekend to grab my 39 flattie and 37 trans to swap over. Keeping the original motor for my 29 coupe.

Cool find. I got mine through a NZ auction similar to ebay. Been planning to do all sorts of things with her and pestered the hell out of many Hambers for ideas. The thread Hotrodprimer referred to is well worth a look at if you haven't all ready. Any up dates to post?????????????
