No way that car is worth 17k. Tell him when he's done hanging out with Flash Gordon and gets back down to earth, you'll give him 5000.00 .
Don't forget the reality TV shows, they probably think 17k is a deal and with just a few more dollars can turn a quick profit!!!! The magic and illusion of TV.
If you can find a 55 nomad in this shape for 5k buy it any day of the week. I would only go to 10k tops. However, I see ones in this shape go for this price from time to time. I think he will get what he wants for it. Not like I have been looking since I sold my 56 nomad a few years back.
They made a little more than 8,300 of them. If that one really does have all the Nomad-only trim pieces, he'll probably get pretty close to his asking price. There are probably more real '32 roadsters around than '55 Nomads. -Brad

I don't think his price is too far off, remember the rule of selling............. start high, you cant start low then raise the price. I think he left some wiggle room in there for negotiation.
yikes. there's one up the road from me about the same shape the owner's asking $6000 and I think he's crazy--can't imaine adding another digit to it!
It'd sell for more than $10k, but I bet he doesn't even have the Nomad-only eybrow potmetal and fender stainless P.I.T.A. parts.
Current Old Cars Report Price Guide values for '55 Nomad 1. $78,000 2. $54,600 3. $35,100 4. $15,600 5. $9,360 6. $3,120 A #6 car is an unrestorable parts car. Quarter panels and floor pans are reproduced.
That stuff is finally being reproduced but is very expensive. Around here that car could sell for 17K.
I grew up there also. Had a 55 wagon, myself. I don't recall any of the MM cars being Nomads. All I remember were regular wagons, like mine. Of course, there's a lot I don't remember. It was the 60s
