Projects Found a nasty ugly piston today

    They are mighty big horses, 116 of them move your Chrysler just fine, new cars with 90 cu in engines supposedly have more, and struggle to move a car less than half the size.

    What does the rest of the cylinder wall look like?
    Looks like the hole was full of water for an extended period and major corosion to piston top was s****ed without removing or reringing.
    Looks like corosion spots on the wall too.
    Like said before do a compression test.
    If on absolute zero budget, drive slow and easy and it should last a season or two

    Rusty, I do remember being very surprised by the pickup those 116 horses had while heading home.

    Paul, the top of the cylinder wall has putting too where the "carbon ring" is.... The discolored part at the top of the cylinder.

    From what I could see before I put the head back on, the rest of the wall didn't have any s****es or real pitting. The other 5 cylinders looked real good too.
