It would be worth the trouble to run those cars on ebay.. start at s**** plus fees and give 'em X days to come get 'em. I'd give the HAMB first dibs, of course, but the ones that won't go here should go there. If you want any help or pointers on that shoot me a PM. My experience has been that rare stuff will flip quick for good enough money you can turn the cash around on the ones that will go slower. And I am serious, I'd swap just about anything I have 2-for-1 on either of those '59s just based on the photos you posted. I'd be just as happy with that 4dr flat-top, it's even the right color, and if it has frame issues I have a '60 I can take apart to fix it. Cash is in short supply this time of year but I do have a couple guys looking at things.
Tim...I met Kevin at his fab shop one day about 10-15 years ago...just before they started running his photos in the back of the magazine. He showed me tons of photos he's taken around the area of old cars...hundereds of 'em! Better yet are his stories of his exploits in foreign countries...on the job. A well traveled fellow with many interesting experiences.
I do this all the time and always have stuf on ebay. I got a couple old farmers that have 100+ cars that I bought what I wanted and am selling off the rest for a fee of course. These late 50's and 60's Pontiac stuff is new ground for me. I send alot of cars back east and have a buddy in new york that does most of my hauling. I could put up 5 k and see what that will buy
The way I feel about these cars must be the way greenpeace feels about saving the seals and whales.......... But seals would make nice seat covers and upholstery......
Man, those are all solid projects!! I sure do get depressed when I hear "cl***ic car" and "crusher" in the same sentence. I plan on someday soon owning large acreage that I'll use to rescue cars like this and sell them to car nuts to build on. Even if no one wants it, at least the ****in crusher wont get it. Really tears me up :
I just got off the phone with the owners brother. He said they all belong to his sister and she had everything appraised at 100.00 each. I'm going to keep calling until I get ahold of her. So look for something to show up in the cl***ifides very soon.
Like I said, if someone's coming through KC on their way, they can borrow my trailer if they bring me back the cab/fenders from that COE... ~Jason
Tim, great find brother!! Lottsa cool stuff. Love all the irrigation system motors! Had some buddies that stole an olds v/8 irrigation motor off a farm in early outlaw years! Young and stupid, one of the dudes pu*** in his Dads 51 Pontiac 2-dr! Oh yeah, his Dad was a law enforcement officer!! The 2-dr post 54 Pontiac and 59-2dr Pontiac have to be pretty rare, d-2 I think the 56 Olds is a 4-dr hardtop, not that it makes the car a bad thing. That GMC coe is a real bad boy!!----Sololobo
Dibs on the 37 Ford truck you mentioned in the earlier post. Please post a picture when you get a chance. If it's decent, I'll drive down to get it. I hope this works out. A buddy of mine found a similar stash of cars about 5 miles from my house last year. We tried our damndest to save the cars, but the owner wanted the "convenience" of having the crusher in and out in a weekend.
I believe I will be traveling to NE if they do go up for sale. Oh yes I WILL. I got dibs on anything I can have if its $100 as appraised. WOW Ill double that for each of them any maybe triple. Im just a bordering state so Im always down for a road trip.!!
Everything is still there and I talked to the owner last week and I am working with her son to get some of it or all of it bought. rrg doesn't know what he's talking about. I think the coe will be going to Alabama and the other coe I had is going to Vegas.
In the first set of pics on the first post , the car on the right , what is it? That is one beautiful car and i want one!
I think it is 59 Catilina and if I do get those cars bought I think I'll keep that one. Love that car too.
WTF? Hunnert bucks each? ****, youd get more for each of the 4-71s! Why cant I just find a HEMI in a field? Why GOD WHY!
