Made a bit more progess, we got alot of it wired, the stop lights and taillights work, the dash lights work, it cranks over by the key, i tested all the gauges and sending units and they all work, we polished the dash panel up and put the gauges back in it, got all the front brakes done, got the pedal assembly all done and bolted back in place, got the tailights rebuilt with new sockets, mocked the radiator back up on it. got a battery tray and mount done, mounted the start solenoid, installed the battery cables Louie is having the rims blasted and having them powder coated satin black, he also is ordering up a set of firestone bias ply tires, 560s and 820s. Gonna try and get it fired up early next week. basically we have to get a distributor rebuilt, run ignition wires, wire the headlights, install the carbs and run fuel lines, so not too much to do. JEFF
A few more updates, got all the headlights wired, got the sending units wired, voltage regulator and generator wired also, also set up all the plug wires with raja ends, also putsed on the progressive linkage. Louie should have ordered the tires by now so hopefully they should be here soon. We should have it fired up next week, hopefully early in the week as weds im leaving on another short trip with Marcy, ill be flying down to Dallas, then well drive to Chickeshea swap meet, and then onto Ocalla Florida for Billetproof florida. JEFF
Hey Jeff, Looking good! Have fun with Marcy (tell her hello). Good meeting you at GNRS this year. John
Glad the ol guys still around to enjoy it! Id love to see his face the first time he gets to drive it again!
she runs <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PES_Ag_qEo0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> We still have a few more bits to work out, like finishing the upper hoses, and get a belt, i also need to finish the generator turned idler too, and a little tuning, im gonna put a fuel psi regulator in it too, seems to idle a little rich, i thinik its pushing past the needle just a little bit. Louie should have the tires in a week or so, well bleed the brakes and try and take it out for a drive.
Got the air cleaners in today, got all the fuel lines done, got the tank back in it, put the electric fuel pump in it, got the generator cover on it, and some other few details. And a cool panoramic shot of my shop my buddy Luke took.
took awhile but wait till the owner takes it for a ride..his smile would probably light up Vegas..lol nice car....
I've never met him but I'm really happy for Loui. Thinking he might be 18 all over again once this hits the road. Great thread and nice job.
