For Hambers in western Canada, you all know about the Western Producer, a farm newspaper. Checking the antique vehicle ads here's an ad for a 1939 ford 2 door. Holy **** it's in the next town about 15 miles away. Checked it out and here's what I found. A '39 deluxe 2 door that was a hotrod back in the late 50's early 60's in Red Deer Alberta. It had a built flathead that he traded for a sbc (the old guy said it seemed like a good idea at the time) after he got into a parking lot fender bender many years ago. He used to go down to the drags in Spokane on occation. Check out the deep dropped axle.
Excellent, keep us updated on what you do with it. Too bad the flat head is gone. I think it is great that you are going to rescue the old hot rod. SpeedAddict001
Oh come on, that thing could not have been sitting outside for long to be in that good of condition. Don't you guys have what we call "rust" down here?
That thing is awesome!! One of my dream cars...good for you, man, that's way cool that you got it!! Lots of possibilities! Fantastic score!
I thought I read yesterday that there were no more old cars to be found in western Canada. What gives ?
So you read the "Producer" too? Not sure, but the dropped axle goes under my '39 coupe. Grille is better than anything I have. You have a need fot it? Here's a pic of the truck, a two ton 1940 Ford. Not bad except the back of the cab is pretty beat up.
Very nice find!.. I'm officially looking for a 39' Tudor Deluxe to haul the kids around. it's one of my favorite cars since I was a boy. Best of luck with it. Keep us posted with pics!!
I dig it. It makes it even cooler having some history too. Stay on the old guy for more info and hopefully some photos.
Dude that is one sweet ride can't wait to see what ya do with it. To bad bout the flat head those rule.
Congrats, that is a very good find. I'm looking for something like that right now. Keep us posted on the build.
