Awesome find! Hopefully someone has some background on it and can share. Did he also get the other one behind it I wonder?
I can see building a period correct style D.O.M. roll bar but not removing it completely that is what makes this cars cool. I just pray someone doesn’t devolve it back into a road car and putter around on the putter around on the street with it!
What happens quite often is that the original bars don’t p*** any tech so there needs to be a compromise in that area if the car is going to be run on the track. I’d say that all that bar qualifies for is puttering…
being an open car you have to have s pretty complicated roll bar to race it, hence ruining the car, its a survivor car, leave it alone, car will never really be able to be raced anyways i have a strait axle vette myself, a 54, with a single hoop roll bar, it stays as is jeff
I like your roll bar much more, the corners are nice and rounded, the first one literally looks like a clothesline. Reminds me of the rollbars that some dirt track cars had back in the sixties.
IMHO, leave it like it is and get it running and enjoy it. The roll bar was probably built by some dirt track shop back in the 60’s.
We don't know the state of the frame. Some times a roll bar does more than one can see. The engine set back being my point. I have to agree that it is BOSS! as we used to say.
That thing is wicked cool like it is. Hopefully the car’s history will be uncovered. Big buck car in it’s day.
