It would have to been nice if you'd taken a close-up of that ID tag on the firewall, don't you think?

G V Gordon wins the prize. Look at the fenders and the belt line, it's a '28.

If you are going to use the body,,

Why would you even consider useing any thing but the original frame if you have it available ???

I used a '26 Chrysler Coupe frame under my '30 Ford Sports Coupe.

Heavy Duty frame, and Guesss what ? it fits your Body !!!

Many things you can do for suspension, I used Ford cross members and Transverse Springs.

  12. Hey, DeSoto, what happened to your CAPS button?:) Just kidding, good suggestion, old Mopars are cool!

I definitly would use the frame, if it was not compromized to badly by rust of some other, as of yet unseen damage :) I just wanted to state that it was there also for the benefit :)

How rare are these cares compared to your standard Model-A, not that it really matters to me i want the car i just have never seen one befor now :)

    2 Things ..............

    1) I found it by mistake on my key board.

    2) I got tired of the Grammer police Whinning about it. :D

Also, These old MoPar frames are nice frames & plentifull & CHEAP.... I have a '25 Dodge frame under a project Late '40s Dry Lake style '27 Nash Advanced 6 Roadster body that will be powered by a 2x2 Equiped Flat Head '41 Cadillac Flathead V8

I would think the coupe is kind of rare, it's adeluxe too with the cowl lights. I know where there are a few sedans. Chysler always had juice brakes too.

Go get the frame and the body and give the man your $300. You can't go wrong at that price. Probably could sell it for twice that. A lot of the early Mopar's had good quality frames some were even factory boxed.

Find an old 350 chev for $150 and go get it!

Old chrysler hot rods are pretty unusual. And if you start scouring chryslers up thru the 50s for parts to build a traditional rod, you'll find that since they were high end cars there's lots of fancy, unusual, and cool looking gadgets and trim. Prices vary between sky high and practically giving it away. Not much middle ground, it's a weird market.

If you do take the dive, understand that you're scratch building a car, it's not like building a deuce or model A. There's virtually zero repro stuff out there, and mopar used a TON of wood, so you're gonna be making the floor and a bunch of body supports including complete doorjambs. But the end result would be worth it.

    Good luck!

    I win! What's the prize?!

Would make a cool non-cookie cutter rod. Early Hemi to keep it all mopar would be sweet.

    Nice find.

    HMMM ...

If i remeber my MoPar correctly, At this point in time Chrylser used BUDD Built Bodys and had minmil wood like a Ford & lotsa STEEL bracing and will be just as easy to build as any Ford.

True, You cant call BrookVille & order parts like a '32...BUT WHO GIVE A SHIT !

That to me would be a Sexy Body to use as a Hot Rod.

But i would use an Early Chrysler/DeSoto Flathead 6 .... Really Fuck with the Main stream ""350/AUTO" Crowd.

A Chrysler 6, 3spd O/D would run ya around at 80 all day long with no Gripes.

Why is it you "HOT ROD GUYS" always gotta down the Orphan cars ??

Who's getting down on that car?

Wow, now that I look closer, it does have a ton of metal structure. My 29 chrysler is some sheetmetal nailed to a wooden crate. Damn, I'm 2 years late to the party.

They make really cool cars, go for it.

  22. Can't be that hard to find a sedan or bend up some tin to replace the missing sides of the top. I've seen guys start with way worse.. and $300 is cheap for that, with a frame.

Not sure how Chysler did it, but Dodge Brothers bought some bodies from Fisher Body around '24 to '26. They had wood, Budd bodies no wood.

It's cool, different, and best of all cheap. That's a good price with the frame - go get it!
