Nice story..put a lump in my throat it did. Sure made me want my first car back...'56 Mercury Montclair 2 dr HT, black w/ stock red/white tuck n roll interior.
Cool story! The sad thing is that can you imagine in 20 years someone trying to find the camry or Hyundai that their dad bought new in 2005? probably not. Pretty funny though.
I just hope that my son doesnt think I want my only new car(suv) purchase....I really dont want my 2003 Nissan back after I get rid of it....I mean I like the thing and all.....but.....
Nice idea. But I wonder who was doing the camera work and how they explained the fact that somebody was standing around filming and recording him.Probably a reenactment with actors if true.Reminds me of the fake "reality" tv shows.
Long story short, inherited my Grandma's '46 Stylemaster 2dr back in the early 70s, thanks to some spiteful family infighting it ended up sold [what can I say, Young & Dumb]. What's done is done, and to date I haven't found the VIN amongst my ramshackle records, though I do know the car went to California. Not that I really want to buy it back, but I'd love to know it's current status, my preference would be finding it had been nicely & properly lowridden, customized, or rodded. That'd give me a case of the warm fuzzies, since a big part of the issue back when was that I wanted to do something other than leave it stock. I do feel a little guilty about selling it, but more than once I've reminded them that if they'd butted their noses outa my business, it'd likely still be in the family.
I allways wanted to buy my father another 53 dodge red ram hemi coupe like he had before he got married he sold it and bought a 1961 falcon because he needed a car he could count on for work the dam things are allmost non existant watching this video made me cry and think of my fater that I lost a year and a half ago anybody that shed a tear is a true car guy
That's something I think they read in their magazines...wife's been saying that to me for years now... I choked back too cause thats the scene I've been playing in my head for decades as I dreamed of finding my old mans 56. Here it is let me know if you've seen it.
WOW. I'm sure the stories true. Just because I want it to be. Yea, I got choked up a little and it felt good. Reminded me how pissed my dad was when my mom made him sell his '67 Chevy wagon because we were moving from NY to TX and she didn't want to haul it. First car he ever bought new. Miss ya dad.
it makes my eyes leak. and puts even more interest in my uncles old coupe. saturday i am going to check out a lead on it. it would be very cool to find it. wish me luck.
I showed this video to a coworker, and after watching it he said: "If my sons ever find my First new car, which was a Gremlin, I'm going to tell them to put it back where they found it." Cracked me up.
