Found weird bellhousing, Mopar?

Found this at a local swap meet over the weekend. Thought it looked like something that would fit a hemi. Four holes line up, but take note of the dual options for a starter, that and the oblong holes right beside other holes scream adaptor to me. Does anyone have any input, such as age or application? I think it looks racey, and cool. It was cheap enough that I thought it would at least make good wall art for the new shop. What I do know is it is not a manual bell because of absence of clutch fork position, and I've found a small D B with the part #s 1559413 and CB24612. Thanks in advance.

    Doug.

My guess is it's the bell off of a Powerflite, I think they're air cooled.

I don't know what it is, but it really looks like a factory part, not aftermarket adapter bell. ...and I agree it looks like air cooled auto.

I had one like it years ago, I don't think it is a HEMI item.

It looks the same as the one hooked to a friends 56 Chrysler poly motor.

It's a stock bellhousing for an early to mid-50's
    Mopar 2-speed Powerflite auto ******. I can't
imagine it being particularly desirable or worth
    anything though.

Wall art. The dual starter pockets simply mean it could also be used with the flat six as long as you have the correct mounting plate.

Yep sure looks like Powerflite bell. Hey if you have the spitfire 6 you could probably fashion a mounting plate that allowed two starters to be mounted. Synchronize those two starters and you would have a powerful starter.
