Here are some pics from the seventies of the Fox Valley Street Rods, These are never seen on the internet before tonight pics that I just scanned, I will be posting more on my albums as I get them scanned in.
Where were you when Rodder's Journal made a scrapbook full of old pics. Those definitely belong in it. For some of us, old pics are one the best references to go back in time.
Cool.....I remember my dad my dad wearing that same hat...pins and all. Wish I had one for the heck of it. The earliest Big Show I remember was the Columbus Ohio Nationals...mid 70s...I think. I ended up competing in several kids competitions......(aimed at getting those pesky kids outta the way) got presented quite a few awards that day, I remember the BFG sponsor handed me one of their jackets that wore down to threads.
Thanks for posting the pictures T-bucket, I remember Dave Heide's green 39 and Barry Boon still has a cool model-A today. Those are for sure cool pictures keep them coming. And yes I had one of those hats back in the day got it from a Bell Helmet rep at Stevenson's Harley Davidson on Hill ave in Aurora at their open house, we used to call them Jammer hats. Don't know why.
Curious that I do not recall meeting up with you guys. You see, I was with Northern Illinois Street Rod Association for years...and just after those pics, too. Cosmo
